How long does it take to list my yard?
Most yard owners are live in under 30 minutes. The onboarding wizard walks you through your basics, your facilities, and the structured turnout fields that make your yard show up properly in search. You can save and return at any point.
Do you check yards before they are listed?
No — you write your own listing and you own it. What we do is show horse owners when you last touched it, which is why keeping it current is worth your time. No gatekeeping, no waiting on us. What it asks of you is that the listing is true, because your reviews are attached to it.
Do you take a commission on bookings or move-ins?
No. OpenStable is a directory and lead-flow product, not a marketplace cut. You keep 100% of what you charge your liveries. The only paid product is the optional Pro plan.
What if my yard fills up — do I have to update availability myself?
Yes, and that's the point. OpenStable only shows availability slots you've explicitly published, with start and end dates. When a slot is filled, you mark it secured. We don't run yards on assumptions like "DIY: yes" with no date — every published slot has a real, current commitment behind it.
What happens once I'm live?
Horse owners searching by postcode, county, or facility see your yard in their results. When someone is interested, they send an enquiry directly to you — there's no booking middleman. You reply through the OpenStable inbox or carry the conversation off-platform; the choice is yours.
What's the difference between free and Pro?
Free yard owners get unlimited livery and activity slots (arena hire, clinics, day camps), can accept every enquiry, and hold 10 invitations to send to horse owners searching near them. Pro is £9.99/month and adds unlimited invitations and the ability to respond to reviews publicly.
