Book well ahead for competition dates, sales and peak summer periods. For emergency veterinary transport, establish in advance who you would call, since availability at short notice is the binding constraint.
What to check first
- Transporter authorisation from APHA — Type 1 covers journeys over 65km up to 8 hours, Type 2 covers journeys over 8 hours and carries additional vehicle approval and competence requirements.
