At least one service needs a name and a price. A price is the first thing an owner looks for, and a listing without one is asking them to ring and find out — so this step is required. Negotiable and POA are both fine; the rest can wait.

How do customers find me on OpenStable?
Horse owners and yard owners search the services directory by category (farrier, vet, etc.) and county. Pro listings sort first; free listings sort second by relevance and recency. Yards already on the platform also see your listing when their liveries ask for recommendations.
Do you check a provider's listing before it goes live?
No. You write your listing and you own it — the accreditations you hold, whether you carry insurance, the ground you cover and what you charge. We publish it as yours, and owners are told plainly that those details are self-declared and worth asking to see. What that buys you is speed: no gatekeeping, no waiting on us. What it asks of you is that the listing is true, because your reviews are attached to it.
Do I need a website or social-media presence to list?
No. Your OpenStable listing is your discoverable web presence — service area, accreditations, services offered, photos, contact, reviews. For many smaller operators it replaces the need for a separate site entirely.
How do work offers actually work?
Every provider gets 10 work offers to start; Pro members send unlimited on fair use. You compose a short message — say, “I’ve had a cancellation in Northamptonshire next Tuesday” — and broadcast it to opted-in horse owners and yards in your service area. There’s a 90-day cooldown per recipient so nobody gets spammed, and customers can switch off professional outreach in their settings.
Can I list under multiple service categories?
Yes. Many providers offer more than one service — a farrier who also clips, a vet practice with a dentist on staff, a saddler who fits and re-flocks. Pick a primary category and add up to several secondary ones; you appear in search for all of them.
